THE last foal from Dual Spark, Wanted Spark, made for a sentimental victory at Pakenham on Thursday night when breaking his maiden in impressive style at his second career start.

‘Will’ as he affectionally known, is the last foal from Wingrove Park’s first bred horse who sadly passed away in 2018. After Thursday’s victory, nine of her ten progeny to race are now victors and have collectively won 22 races and more than $550,000 in stakes earnings.

Ridden by Damien Thornton, the son of Wanted rode the speed three wide and was an impressive 1.5 length winner.

The victory came on the back of a forgettable debut performance at Swan Hill three weeks earlier. Credit goes to trainer Shane Fliedner who is having a great run with his horses at the moment saddling five winners from as many starters.

Both Fliedner and Thornton commented on the horse’s ability and despite not perfecting his race manors yet, should furnish into a talented racehorse.

Congratulations to the part-owners who joined us in leasing Wanted Spark and fingers crossed it is the first of many race victories.
