WINGROVE Park will offer the first Yearling worldwide by champion racehorse Helmet as Lot 210 at the upcoming 2015 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale on Thursday January 8.

On Account of Amarina Farm, Denman NSW (as agent for Wingrove Park) the chestnut filly will create plenty of interest in the sales ring with a strong resemblance to her three-time Group 1 winning stallion.

The October 2013 bred yearling will loose no admirers on the opposite side of her pedigree – from the stakes placed and stakes producing mare Dual Spark (by Spartacus).

“This is a rare opportunity and excellent investment choice to purchase into a proven and precocious black-type winning family,” explains Wingrove Park CEO Joe Vella.

A four time metropolitan winner herself (twice as a 2YO) and runner-up in the Group 3 Dermody Stakes, Dual Spark, has proven just as profitable in the breeding barn with five foals to race of which all are winners. Her progeny have collectively won 13 races and over $470,000 in stakes earnings includes stakes winner Sparks Fly (1ST Listed Morphettville Guineas), El Spark (2ND Group 3 Auraria Stakes), Sparks Burn (3RD Listed St Albans Stakes), Sparks Alight (1ST Bendigo Gold Bracelet – Inaugural).

The Super VOBIS nominated yearling is the first of eight lots catalogued by Helmet (by Exceed And Excel) at the sale. With his Weanling crop selling for an average of $56,667 and as high as $100,000 recording the highest average at the 2014 Inglis Great Southern Sale – his progeny are sure to be high on the wish list for many perspective buyers.

A champion 2YO claiming the Group 1 ATC Champagne Stakes and Sires Produce he returned as a 3YO to claim the prestigious MRC Caulfield Guineas and stakes earnings of over $1.6 million.

Vendor Amarina Farm will offer the filly as one of their typically strong 15-horse draft having previously prepared the likes of Catkins, Super Cool, Aeronautical and Gallica through the sales ring.

“She is a very athletic filly with great confirmation and a cooperative nature,” Amarina Farm Owner/Manager Craig Anderson explained.

“The horse arrived in terrific condition and has done everything right in preparation. I’m sure she will prove very popular with buyers”.

Catalogued as Lot 210 at the start of Session 2 she will be stabled at W 17 in the Gold Coast Sales Complex.
